If you arrive in Ushuaia by bus you will be met by several people offering accommodation. The cheapest on offer is on Av Alem 152, a 7-minute walk from the center. It is a small hostel with only two showers, a guest use kitchen, complimentary breakfast, security lockers, free internet and mixed dorms. The hostel is warm and clean, the only down-side is that the staff don't like you hanging around during the day (which is awkward when it's freezing outside and you are waiting for an airplane departure).
Camping is a bit over-priced: Camping La Pista del Antonio is 3kms from the center and costs . The campsite is in a forest and has cooking facilities.
In Tierra del Fuego National Park there is one organized campground, Lago Roca which offers camping spots for and depending on the season. Don't forget you have to pay for entrance to the park (). There are free campsites in the park but with basic facilities.
The other cheap hostel in town is on Deloqui 750. It is centrally located, has lots of dorm beds and provides a guest use kitchen, security lockers, free breakfast and free internet. A
